Inner Voice is a five-piece musical group based in Miami, Florida, whose original sound and lyrics carry an intriguing essence that calls to the heart of all being. Singing in both English and Spanish, and using an unconventional approach to their instrumentation, which incorporates ethnic percussion, acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies, they produce a worldly sound that is uniquely theirs.
The five members - vocalist Alex Perez, vocalist Ashley Ruiz, vocalist/guitarist Jaime Triana, percussionist Kazuhiro "Tazz" Itoh, and his brother, guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Edwin Itoh - hail from diverse ethnic backgrounds such as Colombian, Cuban, Japanese, Italian, and African. They met over the course of four years and were immediately drawn to the fact that they all shared a similar vision and intention - to use the gift of music to reveal an awareness of unconditional love and ever abiding peace that is here now, regardless of any external circumstances. By being true to their intuition and open to experimentation, the sound of Inner Voice was born. Through the course of hundreds of performances throughout South Florida, their fan base has grown dramatically and they were awarded "Best Pop Band" in the Miami New Times' annual "Best of Miami" issue.
In 2002, they met and highly resonated with Grammy-winning producer/engineer Joel Someillan, who in turn was immediately smitten by their unique sound and hard-work ethic. Joel began working with Inner Voice in his studio, carefully fine-tuning their sound and experimenting with different approaches to recording their unique music, which Joel admits “at times was no easy task”.  Several big-name record labels had heard of or seen this "out-of-the-ordinary" group and expressed interest in signing and developing them. However, none were able to convince the group or Joel that they truly understood what Inner Voice was about or that they had any idea how to steer their careers on the right path. So the group and their producer made a decision to record and release their own album and infuse it with the quality and intention that their music deserves.
Two years and numerous demos later, they have arrived at a "sound" they really love and have begun to record what will be Inner Voice's debut album.
This album will be available to the world in Summer of 2005 on nVisionMusic.com.
